What is a Franchise?

A franchise is an agreement or license between two parties which gives a person or group of people
(the franchisee) the rights to market a product or service using the trademark of another business
(the franchisor).

The franchisee has the rights to market the product or service using the operating methods of the franchisor. The franchisee has the obligation to pay the franchisor certain fees and royalties in exchange for these rights.

The franchisor has the obligation to provide these rights and generally support the franchisee. Franchising is a method used by businesses for the marketing and distribution of their products or services. Both franchisor and franchisee have a strong vested interest in the success of the brand and keeping their customers happy. Franchising allows you to be in business for yourself, but not by yourself. You benefit from the management expertise and marketing clout of a well-established business, yet still enjoy the freedom that comes with being your own boss.

Statistics show that franchisees have a much greater success rate than non-franchised business starting-up in today's global market, and in addition, they continue to benefit from invaluable support services provided by the core business for years to come.

Why choose franchising?

Although many people dream about running their own business, few actually possess the experience or the capital needed to turn that dream into a reality. Franchising however, is a comfortable alternative to running a business entirely on your own.
