Active Children Experience Life
Children as young as 2 years are reported to spend long hours in front of a television set. This is at a time when their minds are so flexible and ready to absorb new thoughts and feelings while interacting with the environment around them; sadly they are not experiencing life at all. Some clinical psychologists even believe that TV and computer games induce a sort of hypnotic trance in young children. There are serious physical consequences to spending so much time with passive electronic amusements. Studies show a direct correlation between general health concerns in school children and the long hours they spent at sedentary pursuits. The more active the child the healthier – it's that simple. Almost all child-development experts agree that children need a variety of mental and physical activity daily to develop into healthy adults. Participating in structured body and mind building exercises via the Ready-Steady-Move program can help children get back on the road to an 'Active' rather than 'Passive' life, for better growth, self-confidence, and improved learning.
